Cupping F.A.Q.

Is Cupping Safe?

Yes. But, your therapist will not recommend cupping for you if they think it would negatively affect your condition. Cupping is not recommended with pregnant or elderly patients.

Does Cupping Hurt?

You can feel discomfort in parts of the body where there is injury. You can get some “bruising” in the area afterward (you may recall Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps’ highly publicized cupping marks), which usually disappears within a week or so. Most people don’t mind the marks because of the relief they get from the treatment. The marks can be minimized by continuously moving the cups rather than keeping them still.
